Natural Rubber RSS
Ribbed Smoked Sheet (RSS) is a premium grade of natural rubber processed directly from fresh latex. Renowned for its exceptional physical properties, RSS is a cornerstone material in the global rubber industry, extensively utilized in tire manufacturing and other heavy-duty applications. The product is systematically classified into five distinct grades, ranging from RSS1 to RSS5. Among these, RSS1 represents the absolute pinnacle of quality, characterized by its superior purity and a strict minimum of air bubbles, blemishes, and foreign contaminants.

Product description
Premium Ribbed Smoked Sheet (RSS) Rubber
Meticulous Processing & Coagulation Upon arrival at the facility, fresh latex is rigorously filtered, diluted, and carefully coagulated using precisely formulated acetic or formic acid. The solidified rubber blocks are then thinly sliced and processed through a series of grooved roller mills. This continuous milling and washing process not only forms the signature ribbed sheets—measuring 100cm x 50cm with a 4-5mm thickness—but also effectively flushes out all residual acids and impurities.
Multi-Stage Thermal Curing (Smoking Process) The freshly milled sheets are suspended on racks in a well-ventilated area for an initial 8-hour draining phase. They then undergo a highly controlled, multi-stage smoking process over 4 to 7 days. This begins with preliminary indoor smoking at 40-50°C for 24 hours, followed by transfer to the main smoking chambers. Here, the temperature is methodically increased up to a maximum of 70°C (24 hours per stage) to ensure optimal drying and curing.
Ideal for Heavy-Duty Applications Thanks to this rigorous processing, our smoked rubber sheets exhibit outstanding physical properties, including exceptional tensile strength, superior abrasion resistance, and high hardness. These characteristics make our RSS the ultimate compounding material for demanding applications, particularly in the manufacturing of heavy-duty automotive tire treads.
Packing
Ribbed Smoked Sheet (RSS) Packaging Specifications To ensure the maximum preservation of rubber quality during extended maritime transit, we offer internationally standardized packaging solutions designed to integrate seamlessly with our partners’ cargo handling systems.
-
1. Bare Bales – Traditional Standard:
-
Net Weight: 111.11 kg per bale (equivalent to 250 lbs/bale).
-
Surface Protection: The exterior of each bale is coated with a specialized talc powder solution (Talc coated) to prevent sticking, oxidation, and mold growth during transit.
-
Container Loading: Loose stowed in containers. A standard 20ft container (20′ FCL) accommodates approximately 162 to 180 bales, yielding a net payload of 18 to 20 metric tons.
-
-
2. Shrink Wrapped Bales on Pallets – Optimized for Handling:
-
Net Weight: 33.33 kg or 35 kg per bale.
-
Packaging: Each bale is securely shrink-wrapped in high-quality PE (Polyethylene) film for moisture resistance and shape retention.
-
Palletizing: 36 bales are neatly stacked on a heavy-duty wooden pallet (ISPM-15 fumigated) or plastic pallet, firmly secured with strapping, totaling 1.2 metric tons per pallet.
-
Container Loading: 16 pallets per 20ft container (20′ FCL), delivering a precise net payload of 19.2 metric tons.
